The American Caramel Baseball Cards Set (E91) set were produced in Philadelphia, PA. Each card measures 1-1/2 x 2-3/4. The complete set is comprised of 99 cards and are divided into 3 series of 33 cards each They were produced for issue in 1908, 1909, 1910. Each set has a similar style card with photos and picture layout.
One of the advantages to this set is that it is very affordable. If you are looking for a set that is attainable without spending a fortune; this might be the one you start with. Set B has just a few of the really pricey cards. The Mordecai Brown, Christy Mathewson, and Eddie Plank are some of the examples that will cost the most. However, of the 33 cards, you should be able to purchase at least 25 of them for under $50 each.
The 1908 “Set A” card back has a checklist with the Athletics/New York/Chicago on the reverse.
The 1909 “Set B” card back has a checklist of Chicago/Athletics/New York on the reverse.
The 1910 “Set C” card back has a checklist of Pittsburgh/Washington/Boston on the reverse.
