Set of 50 from 1909 (E101)

The Caramel Baseball Cards Set of 50 from 1909 is interesting as there are no markings from the year or manufacturer. Many of the poses are similar to other issues from 1909 so it is considered from that era.

The curious comma at the end of the description on the back of the card:

An astute collector (courtesy Peter Calderon) made a really good point as the last sentence ends in a comma rather than a period. This would leave many to believe that an advertising company would have been placed here for production. Many issues had sponsors here so I would agree with the assessment.

Since there are few markings, no checklist, nor a manufactuere this issue isn’t a real popular set amongst collectors. There are so many more in this era that seem to be more desirable. The set consists of 50 cards; with many Hall of Famers so it is still a great set to work on.
