Collecting Baseball Cards in the 1960s was a great time for kids and parents a like. The 1960s Sports Cards were plentiful with tons of nickle packs to go around. The best part was the cards were widely distributed. It didn’t matter where you lived in the Country; your local candy store or diner had cards. So much so, we have seen an abundance of very large collections from this era over the past 2 years. In fact, we have consulted on 4 collections that included multiple complete sets from each year!!! We found a 1960s sports cards buyer immediately for each of these clients!
The Biggest Game In Town
Topps Gum Company was the biggest manufacturer of cards during the 1960s. With the exception of a few small companies breaking into the sports cards market; they were the only player in town. One of the biggest changes Topps made to their cards was to the size of the sets. During the 1950s, it wasn’t unusual to see sets with under 400 cards. The 1960s sets had almost 600 cards in each year! More action card, managers, all star cards were all include. Thus, making a complete set more elusive for kids. Fortunately, packs were a nickel a piece so between buying cards and “flipping” with your friends; you could accumulate a lot of cards fairly quickly.
Plentiful Stock to Choose From
The 1960s Topps Baseball Cards have always been a fan favorite. They can be found in large groups and sets just about anywhere. In addition, they are considerably more affordable than their counterparts from the 1950s. For this reason we are actively consulting and are a buyer for all Topps cards from the 1960s.
